It is already known that NASCAR 26 will be released on September 18. Buyers of the Gold Edition will not only receive access to additional paint schemes, but will also be able to play the game starting September 15. In addition, the title offers cross-platform multiplayer support, less severe penalties for leaving the racetrack, the option to perform burnouts as a victory celebration, and track surfaces that change over the course of a race.
The included racetracks are St. Petersburg, Chicagoland, and Naval Base Coronado. The current season's Chase format is also integrated. The cover features Kyle Larson.
Further new features were presented in a 57-second gameplay trailer using on-screen prompts. At the same time, the pre-order pages went live in the digital stores and contain additional information.
The following is a list of 18 recently revealed features and details.
Revised Driving Physics
According to iRacing Studios, the driving physics have been revised for this year's edition. The official description even refers to “Driving Physics 2.0”.
This designation is apparently intended to be supported by new tire and brake models. However, no further information on the specific changes is currently available. How noticeable the new features will be in the game will become clear after its release in September.
Training, Spotter, and AI Use
A new one-on-one training mode is being added, presented and voiced by Crew Chief Steve Letarte. Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurray is also reportedly involved. The current trailer showed a brief excerpt from this mode, but its exact scope is not yet known.
In addition, a spotter voiced by Freddie Kraft will be available.
The game's Steam page also contains a note regarding the use of AI-generated content. Accordingly, NASCAR 26 uses artificial intelligence to generate certain voice lines and other presentation elements within the user interface.
Graphics
The scenes and screenshots shown in the trailer suggest improved graphics compared with its predecessor. The lighting effects in particular appear to have been revised. However, a certain degree of blurriness is still visible in outdoor shots.
iRacing Studios particularly highlights the increased level of detail, improved graphics, and enhanced particle effects.
For the 2026 season, the skyboxes have been replaced compared with NASCAR 25 and enhanced with dynamic lighting. The racetrack in Rockingham has been revised, with the details along the track updated in particular. Circuit of the Americas is also listed as updated; this presumably relates mainly to the track layout.
750-HP Package, Left-Side Tires, and RAM
The 750-HP engine package is also being used this year. In the Cup Series, it provides more powerful engines for road courses and short ovals.
The Truck Series RAM is also included. In the trailer, the vehicle is referred to as a “Dodge RAM,” even though the “Dodge” designation was removed from the model line back in 2009.
Another strategy option makes it possible to change only the tires on the left side of the vehicle.
The career mode receives new garages, facility improvements, and the inclusion of the real-life podcast Door Bumper Clear. Other additions include adjustments to caution periods with a screen for the drivers involved, as well as a trophy room.
The new information is rounded off by the PC system requirements, which apparently match those of NASCAR 25. The Standard Edition, available exclusively digitally, costs 59.99 euros, while the Gold Edition is offered for 79.99 euros.
