- Thrustmaster is launching a sim racing wheel replica of the Ferrari 499P Hypercar.
- It is based on the wheel of the victorious 2023 model, commemorating the 100th anniversary.
- Only 499 units will be produced, each individually numbered.
- The wheel features backlit buttons, hand-molded carbon-fiber components, and six paddle shifters.
- Its launch coincides with the start of this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning Ferrari 499P Hypercar now has a sim racing adaptation of its steering wheel.
The “Thrustmaster Ferrari 499P Centenary Winners Edition” wheel, based specifically on the 2023 model, is officially licensed by both Ferrari and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. It is the American-French peripheral manufacturer’s most exclusive wheel to date and is limited to just 499 units.
The wheel is compatible with the T818 and T598 wheel bases for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. As with the vehicle’s production run, its price also reflects its connection to the race car: It costs €851, as car number 51 won Le Mans at the centenary race.
In keeping with its premium positioning, each unit is individually numbered. The number is displayed both on a plaque on the top of the wheel and on the digital dashboard when the wheel is switched on.
The package includes a metal stand with a Le Mans logo and a USB cable for power during the presentation. These are housed in an elaborately designed box, together with a technical drawing of the design and an official Automobilist poster of the Ferrari that won the 2023 race. A code for Le Mans Ultimate, including all current DLC, is also included in the package.
The Ferrari among sim racing wheels
Apart from the presentation, the wheel largely matches that of the real race car, with only minor adjustments for use in sim racing. The color display has been slightly reduced in size (from 5" to 4.3"), and two rotary dials were omitted due to console input limitations.
The digital dashboard allows users to cycle through various layouts from the real vehicle. The information provided by Ferrari has been subtly adapted to make it optimally usable for sim racing applications.
In addition, three LED rows, four metal rotary dials, and four toggle switches are integrated. Three of these toggle switches represent the colors of the Italian flag, under which the vehicle competed in the 2023 season, while the fourth depicts the emblem of the “Cavallino Rampante,” or prancing horse.
The rear is made of hand-molded carbon and features six paddle shifters, two of which are also made of carbon fiber and four of metal. Here too, the layout and color scheme are based directly on the original race car.
Pre-orders for Thrustmaster Club members are now open. General sales will begin on Saturday, June 13, 2026, coinciding with the start of this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 280 mm, 1.4 kg wheel features 11 push buttons (plus a D-pad-like input) with backlit edges. During a brief hands-on test at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, no light leakage was visible.
