ACC | Konsolen-Update v1.8 mit neuem Reifenmodell und 400Hz-Physik jetzt erhältlich

Das mit Spannung erwartete Update v1.8 für Assetto Corsa Competizione ist endlich für PlayStation 5 und Xbox Series X|S erschienen. Es führt ein neues Reifenmodell, detaillierteres Force Feedback und die GT World Challenge Europe-Meisterschaft 2021 sowie neue Lackierungen ein.
Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC)-Publisher 505 Games hatte bereits angekündigt, dass das Update v1.8 - das auf dem PC seit November 2021 verfügbar ist - im September dieses Jahres erscheinen würde. Wie versprochen wurde das Update heute sowohl auf Microsofts als auch auf Sonys Flaggschiff-Konsolen veröffentlicht und enthält verschiedene Verbesserungen der Physik und inhaltliche Updates.
Das Spiel wurde von Kunos Simualzioni für den PC entwickelt, aber die Konsolenversion wurde von Untold Games entwickelt, die auch für die Konsolenumsetzungen von Control und Journey to the Savage Planet zuständig waren. Die Konsolenversionen von ACC wurden von Grafik- und Online-Problemen geplagt und die Entwicklung für die Xbox One- und PlayStation 4-Editionen wurde eingestellt.
Das 17.446 GB große v1.8-Update ebnet auch den Weg für die Konsolenveröffentlichung der jüngsten PC-DLC-Packs von ACC, wobei das Challengers Pack und das American Track Pack bereits für die Veröffentlichung am 10. November vorgesehen sind.
Was die Inhalte betrifft, so werden die Farben der Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe-Saison 2021 enthalten sein, wobei die Meisterschaft im Einzelspielermodus spielbar ist. In den Patch-Notizen heißt es, dass der BMW M4 GT3 in V1.8 zum Spiel hinzugefügt wurde, aber er ist bereits in den PS5- und Xbox Series X|S-Versionen von ACC enthalten (wenn auch nur mit einer Farbauswahl).
Die Grafik wurde aufpoliert, wobei sich die Entwickler auf Regeneffekte und Shader konzentriert haben. Die Physik wurde stark überarbeitet. Ein neues Reifenmodell soll realistischere Erhitzungs- und Abnutzungseigenschaften bieten - einschließlich Flex- und Sturzmodellierung.
Die Aktualisierungsrate der ACC-Konsolenphysik wurde auf 400 Hz erhöht, was für ein detaillierteres Force-Feedback und mehr Realismus sorgen sollte. Zahlreiche andere Aspekte des Reifen- und Aufhängungsmodells von ACC wurden ebenfalls verbessert, darunter die Simulation von Stoßdämpfern, Reifenschlupfwinkeln und die Funktion der Bremskanäle.
Außerdem ist es jetzt möglich, über das neue Menü "Offene Serien" benutzerdefinierte Raster zu erstellen, wobei die Einzelmarken-Klassen Supertrofeo (ST) und Cup (CUP) zu einer GTC-Klasse für die Online-Nutzung zusammengeführt wurden (diese wird voraussichtlich die Ferrari Challenge und die neuesten Lamborghini-, Porsche- und BMW-Einzelmarkenserien enthalten, sobald der Challengers Pack DLC am 10. November veröffentlicht wird).
Was den Mehrspielermodus betrifft - ein strittiges Thema unter Konsolen-ACC-Spielern - so wurden im Update v1.8 keine spezifischen Verbindungsverbesserungen erwähnt. Ein weiterer Rückschlag ist, dass der exzellente CinemaHUD-Screenshot-Modus der PC-Version ebenfalls nicht enthalten ist, ohne dass bekannt ist, ob er in zukünftigen Updates erscheinen wird.

- Higher variability will now produce larger variation and less predictability in the length of individual weather cycles (time between peaks).
- High variability might produce both fast changes or prolonged weather spells (or both combined) within the same weekend simulation.
- Low variability will produce more even weather cycles, akin to the pre-update model.
- Revised pit speeding thresholds that were often too permissive, both on pit entry and pit exit.
- Fixed invalid lap being eligible for personal and session fastest (purple) lap in race sessions (also in Multiplayer results).
- Added measures against irregular driving before the green light in Hotlap and Hotstint game modes.
- Replay: revised replay tyre rotation matrix calculation to avoid misalignment between tyres and rim (and reduce disk space).
- The improvement is backwards-compatible, while newly saved replays should occupy less disk space than before.

- Stats: revised and merged grouping of statistics per race track.
- Note that tracks are only separated per season whereas an older season might produce faster lap times due to higher track grip (such as the fresh asphalt on Silverstone 2018).
- Multiplayer track seasons are now deprecated and all track configurations point to the Open series (currently matching the latest, 2021 season, see Physics notes).
- Note for admins: the old season suffixes in the server configuration will remain there for legacy functionality, but they will no longer create a difference in the track/BOP version!
- Server track configuration (event.json) should use the non-suffix version in continuation, e.g. “Misano” instead of “misano_20XX”.
- Note for users: no matter the server config, Multiplayer will always use the latest Open series configuration from Single Player.
- Further revised final corner penalty thresholds with the widget formation type when the back of the field is likely to receive the green light inside or coming out of the final turn.
- Ratings: fixed an issue that could erroneously produce 100 (or 00) CC ratings at Spa.
- Protocol change – old server versions are obsolete and will not register on the backend.
