- Official Thrustmaster “Gran Turismo 7” bundle called the T-GT III
- “Direct Axial Drive” base, “Raceline Load Cell” pedals, and a steering wheel in “Gran Turismo” design
- Thrustmaster becomes an official partner of the “Gran Turismo World Series” once again
Thrustmaster has unveiled a new officially licensed steering wheel bundle for “Gran Turismo 7”: the T-GT III.
While the previous T-GT steering wheels still used a belt drive, Thrustmaster’s latest model under the Gran Turismo logo is equipped with an enhanced version of the company’s proprietary “Direct Axial Drive” technology.
The T-GT III is compatible with the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It offers a constant torque of 5 Nm and allows for peaks of up to 10 Nm. Thrustmaster promises extremely low latency and immediate responsiveness as a result. In addition, the haptic technology simulates effects such as the jolt when shifting gears and engine sounds in “Gran Turismo 7”.
The new bundle includes the familiar TGT steering wheel rim in “Gran Turismo” design with a leather-like finish, as well as four rotary dials specially assigned for “Gran Turismo”. The set is complemented by a pedal system with a load cell.
The steering wheel’s design resembles that of the existing T598, which we ranked first on our list of the best PS5 racing wheels. However, the T-GT III bundle includes a round steering wheel in “Gran Turismo” design.
The set also includes the Raceline pedals. The Load-Cell add-on, which is normally available separately, is already included.
The Thrustmaster T-GT III can be pre-ordered starting December 3 at a price of 699.99 euros. Delivery is expected to begin before Christmas and coincide with the second part of the “Spec IV” update for “Gran Turismo 7”. This update adds six new vehicles and the new “Sugo” track to the game. The first part of the update will be released in October and includes six additional vehicles as well as a remake of “Autumn Ring”.
Thrustmaster returns to the Gran Turismo World Series partner list
In addition to unveiling the T-GT III, Thrustmaster announced during the third round in Singapore that the company is once again an official partner of the Gran Turismo World Series. This means Thrustmaster joins Moza and Fanatec. For the first time, the World Series therefore has partnerships with three steering wheel manufacturers at the same time.
“We have maintained a long-standing partnership with Thrustmaster. The company has remained loyal to Gran Turismo over the years and offers solutions that enhance the driving experience,” explained Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo.
“The journey we have taken together has enabled us to convey the desired driving sensations through the steering wheel, while both the technology and the game have continued to evolve. We are very pleased to welcome Thrustmaster as a partner of the Gran Turismo World Series,” added Kazunori Yamauchi.
“Meeting Gran Turismo’s high standards is no easy task. During the 16 years of our collaboration, Yamauchi-san’s motto has always been characterized by a genuine commitment to the game. This has allowed us to take on projects that we believe no one else would have undertaken in order to achieve such a high level of realism,” added Gilles Raulet, Director of Development and Licensing at Thrustmaster.
“This collaboration inspires our teams anew year after year, because passion remains at the heart of our conversations.”
