At the Tokyo Game Show, Moza unveiled its new range of PlayStation-compatible wheelbases. Both the R16S Ultra and the R5S Pro were presented to the public for the first time.
  • Moza unveils two PlayStation-compatible wheelbases at the Tokyo Game Show.
  • In addition, a new steering wheel and pedals were presented.

With this, Moza presented PlayStation-compatible wheelbases as well as matching steering wheel and pedal peripherals for the first time.

Even before the official presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, the Chinese manufacturer published an image showing at least two wheelbases. These apparently are Sony-compatible variants of the 16 Nm R16 Ultra and the 6 Nm R5 Pro. Although this cannot yet be determined with certainty due to the limited image quality, the PlayStation variants appear to be called the R16S Ultra and R5S Pro.

Should Moza confirm these details, the R16S Ultra would compete directly with Fanatec's 18 Nm ClubSport DD+. This would give console gamers another option for a high-torque wheelbase.

The R5S Pro, on the other hand, would compete directly in the more affordable price segment with the 8 Nm Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro and the 5 Nm Thrustmaster T598.

A price has not yet been announced. However, Moza is known for offering competitive products at prices below those of established PC sim racing hardware providers. It can therefore be assumed that the new models will be attractively positioned compared with their competitors.

Additional new steering wheel unveiled

Moza also presented a steering wheel that is expected to be included with the new wheelbases. It appears to offer numerous input options. The two-pedal set also looks like a revised version of the brand's own SRP pedals.

It will probably also be possible to expand the models with an additional clutch pedal, as well as further accessories and additional steering wheels. However, this has not yet been confirmed.

Moza's expansion into the console market has been anticipated for some time. The recent partnership with Sony's successful Gran Turismo game series has apparently paved the way for the unveiling that has now taken place.

Prices for the Moza R16S Ultra and Moza R5S Pro

As soon as Moza publishes specific pricing information, we will report on it promptly.
