The first new track in the “Spec IV” update for Gran Turismo 7 will be presented in full for the first time this weekend.
The Sugo International Racing Course, a real-world circuit in Japan making its debut in the Gran Turismo series, will be used for qualifying and a sprint race as part of the upcoming “Gran Turismo World Series” event.
The competition, in which the world's best GT7 drivers face off against one another, is divided into two categories: the Manufacturers Cup, a team competition, and the Nations Cup, an individual competition. The third of a total of four rounds will be held at the upcoming event in Singapore.
In addition to the races, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi announced further information about the upcoming Spec-IV update:
“We will announce more details about the Spec-IV update during the Gran Turismo World Series on October 3. So please stay tuned,” he explained in a recently released promotional trailer.
A specific release date has not yet been set. All that is known is that the rollout is planned to take place in two phases in October and December. The Sugo circuit has already been confirmed, but has not yet been fully unveiled.
The Nations Cup race therefore offers the first opportunity to experience the track in a race. The participants will use the Super Formula 2023.
This choice of vehicle is particularly fitting, as the venue hosts races from both the real-world Super Formula championship and Super GT. Gran Turismo star Igor Fraga also competes in both motorsport series.
The Nations Cup Grand Final race follows. However, it will feature the “Circuit de Sainte-Croix – B Reverse” and the traditional “Gran Turismo Red Bull X2019 Competition” vehicle.
Earlier that same day, the Manufacturers Cup race will be held on the “Autodrome Lago Maggiore – Full Course Reverse” using Group 3 vehicles.
The Gran Turismo World Series regularly serves as a platform for announcing new game updates, vehicles, features, and tracks. Further news is therefore also expected over the course of this weekend. During the previous round, for example, the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo was unveiled.
The broadcast of the Manufacturers Cup round in Singapore begins on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. BST. The Nations Cup starts at 1 p.m. afterward.
