Before that, the update launching in September will include a “Drift Attack” mode as well as three vehicles that have not previously appeared in Forza Horizon.
Plans include a continuously evolving game world and EventLab items inspired by the popular Japanese convenience store chain. Further details about this partnership are to remain confidential until the Series update is released in October.
The next Series update will be released on September 7. It will focus on the new “Drift Attack” mode, in which players must score as many drift points as possible.
Unlike conventional Drift Zones, this mode features so-called “Clipping Zones.” Bonus points are awarded for drifts within these marked areas. There is no lap limit. In addition, leaderboards are supported both within the game world and for convoys. The corresponding events take place on the Shimanoyama Circuit, which is permanently intended to serve as the venue for “Drift Attack.” A yellow Horizon Festival wristband is required to participate in the “Drift Attack” events.
“Drift Attack” events will also be added to the campaign. As a reward, players can receive a 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition optimized for drifting. A standard version of this vehicle will also be available to purchase in the Autoshow.
Gamescom visitors will already have the opportunity to try out the “Drift Attack” mode at the Xbox booth before its official release. A vehicle in 7-Eleven design will also be on display there.
In addition, the Series update will include a “British Automotive” event on September 10. As part of this event, three British vehicles that have not previously appeared in Forza Horizon can be unlocked through the Festival Playlist. Car Pass owners will also receive four new Forza Horizon vehicles as well as dealer discounts on British automobiles.
