The McLaren W1 will be available in Forza Horizon 6. Its release is scheduled for September 10.
This was revealed in a statement from the automaker, which confirmed its new flagship hypercar for the “British Automotive Series” update.
The free “Festival Playlist” update is set to include three British vehicles that have not previously appeared in “Horizon” and that players can earn. The W1 is explicitly mentioned as part of the associated “Car Pass” DLC.
The “Car Pass” is included in the Deluxe and Premium Editions of the game or is available as a separate season pass. Once all releases have been completed, a total of 30 vehicles will be available. Each vehicle included can also be purchased individually as DLC for €2.99.
On September 10, three additional arrivals for the Horizon Car Pass are set to be announced alongside the McLaren W1.
“Players of Forza Horizon 6 will soon be able to own and drive McLaren’s latest 1-series model in the game, as the McLaren W1 is coming to the game on September 10,” the automaker stated.
“The vehicle will be introduced to players as part of the ‘British Automotive Series’ update for the title and will be available exclusively to those who have purchased the ‘Car Pass’ downloadable content pack. As part of the latest vehicle release for this DLC, it will be added directly to their game garage.”
The W1 is considered the direct successor to the pioneering P1 and F1 supercars. It features a mid-mounted hybrid V8 powertrain producing 1,258 bhp. To date, the vehicle has not officially appeared in any other racing game.
Developer Playground Games and publisher Microsoft are expected to announce further details about the next game update next week. At the same time, a new game mode called “Drift Attack” is set to be introduced.
In addition, a 7-Eleven-themed update scheduled for release in October was recently confirmed.
