10 Playlist Reward Cars
Like every new Series, the “British Automotive” update includes a new Festival Playlist. Over a period of four weeks, changing challenges and new cars that can be unlocked will be available. In Series 5, a total of six new cars and four returning models can be unlocked.
The Bentley Continental GT Speed makes its Forza Horizon debut in Series 5. The car is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing more than 770 hp and can be unlocked at 80 points in the Festival Playlist.
The Summer Playlist introduces another new car with the lightweight Ginetta G40 Junior. It can be unlocked at 20 points and previously appeared in Forza Motorsport. Players who collect 40 points this season will also receive the McLaren 620R. In Forza Horizon 5, this car was initially exclusive to the Car Pass and is now already available in the game.
In Autumn, the Grand Tourer Jaguar XKR-S GT, which can be unlocked at 20 points, and the hot hatch Mini John Cooper Works GP, available at 40 points, will return.
The Winter Playlist includes the thoroughly British Vauxhall Astra VXR, which, alongside the Bentley Bentayga, makes its Forza Horizon debut. The Vauxhall previously appeared in Forza Motorsport. Although the luxury SUV Bentley Bentayga was already included in the game, it had previously only been available as a “Wheelspin” reward. Both cars are unlocked this season at 20 and 40 points, respectively.
In Spring, the Series concludes with two lightweight Lotus sports cars: the Esprit V8, available at 20 points, and the two-seater Emira, which is unlocked at 40 points.
In addition, four cars making their first appearance in Forza Horizon will be added to the paid Car Pass: the 2025 McLaren W1, the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, the 1998 Renault Sport Spider, and the 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe ‘Luftauto 002’.
As part of the Series theme, several British cars will also be offered at reduced prices in the Aftermarket shop. Two rare cars that are normally available exclusively through Wheelspins will also be available for a limited time: the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and the 1961 Jaguar E-Type.

Drift Attack
Another highlight of the fifth Series is the introduction of “Drift Attack”, a new permanent game mode on the Shimanoyama race track.
Playground Games describes the mode as a “time trial for drifters”. The goal is to collect as many drift points as possible within a single lap. The number of laps that can be completed during a run is unlimited.
Players who complete a Drift Attack in the Collection receive a custom racing suit, a matching helmet, and a modified car: the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition.
In addition to the new cars and the “Drift Attack” mode, the update includes numerous bug fixes and improvements. These are summarized in the patch notes below.
“Drift Attack” differs from “Horizon Drift” and the “Drift Zones” through special clipping zones. Within these boundaries, you receive bonus points when drifting. A yellow wristband is required to participate in this mode.

- Added a live preview for the Environment Colour Filters (color-blindness accessibility) (Bug 4377457).

- Fixed an issue with the 1970 Porsche #3 917 LH & 1970 Porsche #3 917 LH Forza Edition where the player character’s helmet could clip through the roof (Bug 4487006).
- Fixed an issue with the 2018 Exomotive Exocet Sport V8 XP-5 where the wheels could clip through barriers (Bug 4534145).
Festival Playlist
- Retroactively rewarded all players who played during the Winter or Spring Seasons of Series 4 (Horizon Mascot Party) with completions for all Winter Daily Challenges due to the Horizon Story Challenge not unlocking for some players.

Horizon Play
- Adjusted the number of laps for certain Events in Horizon Play depending on the Car Class and length of the Event (see below) (Bug 4382221 & Bug 4385147):
- Daikoku Circuit - increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Electric Town Circuit - reduced to 2 laps for some classes.
- Highway Circuit - reduced to 2 laps for some classes.
- Hokubu Circuit - increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Irokawa Circuit - increased to 5 laps for all classes.
- Kawazu Nanadaru Scramble - reduced to 2 laps for some classes.

- Narai-Juku Circuit - increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Shimanoyama Circuit - increased to 5 laps for all classes.
- Soni Circuit - increased to 4 laps for some classes.
- Developer Notes:
- We have reviewed the length of all circuit races in Spec Racing, to give a more consistent race time across circuits. This has been adjusted per class, based on lap times for the class.
Visuals
- Fixed an issue where cars would sometimes have misplaced wheels (Bug 4499080).
- Fixed an issue with exhaust locators appearing on electric vehicles (Bug 4510222).
- Fixed an issue where other players' character models were not appearing in their cars at lower graphical settings (Bug 4452339).
- Fixed an issue with raytracing not working on Intel GPUs (Bug 4501614).
- Based on performance telemetry we have made a change to improve car rendering quality for players using the High preset on PC (Bug 4418166).
- Developer Notes:
- The player's car now uses a higher quality model when the 'Car Level of Detail' graphics option is set to the 'High' setting. All other settings Low, Medium, Ultra and Extreme remain unchanged. Most players using this setting should not encounter any issues from this, other than a higher quality car. However, players running unlocked framerates may experience up to 3% GPU increase due to the additional detail. If players want to prioritize framerate then reducing this setting down to Medium will match the same quality and performance for the player car as it was before
