RENNSPORT had become comparatively quiet in recent months. Following the switch to self-publishing, which initially led to a backlog of game updates, as well as a series of releases in quick succession, the last major update arrived in June.
The cross-platform sim racing platform has since confirmed a new season of its R1 competition. It will reach its climax in October with a LAN final held as part of the SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt. It has now been revealed that the company is also expected to present further news at the event.
Specific information on the game's further development is also set to follow shortly.
“Our focus for the remainder of 2026 is clear and centered on continuous development,” a RENNSPORT spokesperson explained.
“In our upcoming Community Debrief #2, we will present our central development roadmap in detail. Drivers will gain comprehensive insight into the planned improvements to the AI in single-player mode, the reworking of the FFB and steering wheel profiles, the fixing of issues that emerged after release, and the expansion of our vehicle selection.”
Although RENNSPORT had thus reaffirmed its long-term direction, the switch to self-publishing was initiated just a few days later. This affected the release of several updates.
After a few comparatively quiet months, there are now many indications that RENNSPORT will once again make its development plans more public.
A vehicle announced as part of the event, the KTM X-Box GT2, has still not been released. Instead, the HWA EVO.R was surprisingly added to the game. In addition, further vehicles are in preparation.
“This development will continue through the SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt,” the statement continues.
“Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that a major new automotive manufacturer will become part of the RENNSPORT lineup as part of an update developed specifically for this event.”
“There is still a long way to go before then. We look forward to involving the RENNSPORT community in every single step of this journey and staying in continuous contact with them.”
