Bereits zuvor wurde angekündigt, dass das Update mit dem vielversprechenden Titel „Project Motor Racing“ einen bedeutenden Fortschritt darstellen soll. Seit dem 25. März 2026 steht nun das „Update 2.0“ für die Plattformen PC, PlayStation 5 und Xbox Series X|S zur Verfügung – lediglich vier Monate nach der ursprünglichen Veröffentlichung des Sim-Racing-Spiels.
Die Entwicklungsarbeiten werden fortgesetzt, wobei das Team von Straight4 Studios betont, dass dieses Update eine Grundlage bietet, auf der weitere Entwicklungen aufbauen können.
Zu den potenziellen Neuerungen zählen unter anderem neue Reifenmodelle für den Mazda MX-5 sowie den Porsche 991 (992) GT3 Cup, zusätzlich zu den Fahrzeugklassen GT, N-GT und GTE. Im Mehrspielermodus wurde eine Anti-Cheat-Funktion implementiert, während im Einzelspielermodus Einführungsbildschirme für die Karriere, reale Sponsoren, Podiumsfeiern sowie ein klar definiertes Endziel integriert wurden.
Die Benutzeroberfläche wurde umfassend überarbeitet; die Szenen in den Boxengassen wurden entfernt und die Menüstruktur neu organisiert. Auch das HUD während des Rennens wurde optimiert und verfügt nun über ein neues ECU-Widget.
Konsolenspieler dürfen sich über eine verbesserte grafische Leistung freuen, wodurch das Spiel der PC-Version näher kommt.
Es wurden zahlreiche Verbesserungen hinsichtlich der Grafikleistung vorgenommen, und auch die Leistung der KI-Gegner soll optimiert worden sein, wobei unsere Tests jedoch darauf hinweisen, dass in diesem Bereich noch erheblicher Verbesserungsbedarf besteht.
