Das Saison-4-Update 2026 für iRacing ist ab sofort verfügbar. Es umfasst unter anderem überarbeitete Strecken, neue Streckenscans, eine angepasste Fahrdynamik für eines der beliebtesten Fahrzeuge sowie die Möglichkeit, neue DLC-Inhalte zu erwerben.
Nachfolgend finden Sie die wichtigsten Neuerungen sowie anschließend die vollständigen Patch-Hinweise aus dem iRacing-Forum.
Vier neue Fahrzeuge zum Kauf
Einige bereits vorhandene Fahrzeuge wurden kostenlos überarbeitet. Zunächst stehen jedoch die vier neuen Modelle im Mittelpunkt:
- Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH
- Caterham Seven Academy
- Caterham Seven 420R
- NASCAR Gen 4 Grand National
Beginnen wir mit dem klassischen NASCAR-Fahrzeug. Beim Gen 4 Grand National handelt es sich um ein historisches Modell aus der Gen-4-Ära der Serie unterhalb der Cup-Klasse, die von den frühen 1990er-Jahren bis zur Mitte der 2000er-Jahre dauerte. Im Vergleich zu den Fahrzeugen der höchsten Kategorie bietet dieses Modell eine geringere Leistung und einen kürzeren Radstand.
Das Fahrzeug ist neu und kann als DLC erworben werden. Nutzerinnen und Nutzer, die bereits das als „Legacy“ gekennzeichnete Gen-4-Cup-Modell besitzen, erhalten das Upgrade jedoch kostenlos.
Bei den beiden Caterham-Modellen gibt es eine Besonderheit: Sie werden ausschließlich als Bundle angeboten. Zwar ist es bedauerlich, dass die Einstiegsversion „Academy“ nicht im Basisumfang enthalten ist, das Paket umfasst jedoch immerhin zwei Fahrzeuge. Der 420R ist dabei eine besonders leistungsstarke, mit einem sequenziellen Getriebe ausgestattete und weniger als 700 Kilogramm schwere Rennmaschine.
Darüber hinaus steht der Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH zur Verfügung. Er ist nach dem Ferrari 499P das zweite Hypercar nach LMH-Spezifikation, das in iRacing verfügbar ist. Während iRacing bei der Nachbildung des Ferrari-Modells mit technischen Schwierigkeiten zu kämpfen hatte, verfügt der Aston Martin über kein Hybridsystem. Stattdessen kommt ein V12-Saugmotor zum Einsatz, der optimal auf das Balance-of-Performance-System abgestimmt ist. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass die neuen Fahrzeuge zu einem Preis von 11,95 US-Dollar angeboten werden.
Die beiden Caterham-Modelle und der Aston Martin können mit Regenreifen ausgestattet werden.
Strecken-Updates und zusätzliche Layouts

Bei den Strecken-Updates wird zwischen zwei Varianten unterschieden: einer vollständigen Neuvermessung und einer allgemeinen Aktualisierung.
Bei einer Neuvermessung wird die Streckenoberfläche auf Grundlage vollständig neuer Laserscandaten von Grund auf neu erstellt. Im Rahmen dieses Updates betrifft dies Road America, den Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course und die Milwaukee Mile.
Für die Milwaukee Mile wurde nicht nur das Oval überarbeitet, sondern auch ein Straßenkurs, der sogenannte „Roval“, hinzugefügt. Für Road America stehen nun außerdem zwei neue kurze Streckenvarianten mit den Bezeichnungen „East“ und „West“ zur Verfügung.
Der beliebte, im Basisumfang enthaltene Summit Point Raceway sowie Road America wurden ebenfalls überarbeitet. Beide Strecken erhielten neue Texturen, zusätzliche Details am Streckenrand und neue Randsteine. Eine erneute Laservermessung erfolgte in diesen Fällen jedoch nicht.
Fahrzeug-Upgrades
- Sprint Car
- Mazda MX-5
Für das Pavement Sprint Car steht ein kostenloses Upgrade zur Verfügung. Der beliebte Oval-Rennwagen erhält unter anderem mehr Leistung, eine angepasste Drehmomentkurve, das aktuelle Reifenmodell, ein neues Bremssystem, Änderungen am Fahrzeuggewicht sowie Überarbeitungen am Fahrwerk.
Für viele iRacing-Nutzerinnen und -Nutzer dürften jedoch insbesondere die Änderungen am Mazda MX-5 von Bedeutung sein, da dieses Fahrzeug statistisch zu den am häufigsten gefahrenen Modellen der Simulation gehört.
Der Mazda MX-5 verfügt nun über eine überarbeitete Federung, das aktuelle Reifenmodell sowie zusätzliche grafische Verbesserungen. Zudem wurde die Aerodynamik angepasst, um das aus realen MX-5-Rennen bekannte „Bump Drafting“ realistischer nachzubilden.
Mehr Rennen gegen KI-Gegner
Nach dem Start der Saison 4 können Rennen gegen KI-Gegner mit den folgenden Fahrzeugen und auf den folgenden Strecken ausgetragen werden.

Verbesserungen an der Benutzeroberfläche und mehrere Pace-Cars
iRacing setzt die Entwicklung der neuen Benutzeroberfläche fort. Mit diesem Update werden während der Boxenstopps zusätzliche Informationen auf dem Bildschirm angezeigt. Dazu gehören eine deutlichere Markierung der Boxenplätze, Schätzungen zur voraussichtlichen Standzeit sowie Schadensinformationen. Aktive Auswahlen werden zudem deutlich hervorgehoben.
Auch die Darstellung von Schäden wurde erweitert. Optional steht nun eine farbcodierte Schadensanzeige auf dem Bildschirm zur Verfügung. Bei Zeitfahrten gegen ein Ghost-Fahrzeug wird außerdem ein neues Informationsfeld eingeblendet. Darüber hinaus wurde das Schnellkonfigurationsmenü überarbeitet.
Zu den weiteren Neuerungen zählen aktualisierte Raucheffekte sowie die erstmalige Einführung klassenspezifischer Pace-Cars bei rollenden Starts. Diese werden im Rahmen eines sogenannten „Soft Launch“ während der IMSA-Rennen zunächst ausschließlich in Saison 4 eingesetzt.

Updater
- Now the iRacing Launcher correctly re-launches the iRacingUI when requested by the iRacing Updater after installing packages.
- Download status updates are no longer sent to the UI once downloading has completed.
Teams
The iRacing Launcher Team has completed a re-build of the Team Registration window.
- The window layout has been optimized.
- Team member listings and roles are now clearer.
- Warnings for fair-share driving and registering as a solo driver have been improved.
- A new Verification Step shows the list of drivers being registered and which team they are registered with before completing registration.
Leagues
The Leagues area of the iRacing Launcher has been rebuilt, with a focus on behind-the-scenes improvements designed to support future development.
Results
- Results from past Sessions may now be viewed on their own pages and with links.
- Past results and season standings for any series can be browsed directly on dedicated pages.
- Deep links can now be used to bookmark, share or navigate directly to series results and season standings.
Test Drive
When selecting a Test Drive based on an Official Session, the Balance of Performance parameters for the selected car can now be automatically loaded and applied.
This provides a more representative test-driving environment for the corresponding Official Session.
Localization
- A new selectable language has been added: Spanish – Mexico.
- Users can now select es-MX (Spanish – Mexico) from the language selection dropdown.

AI Fixes

Physics
- Multi-threaded physics processing has been enabled.
- The core physics update loop has been refactored and multi-threaded as part of the internal Physics Islands initiative.
- The physics workload is sliced and the end of the physics tick is parallelized across available CPU threads.
- Single-car sessions should retain the same responsiveness.
- In full-field races, crowded multi-car battles and large AI grids, iRacing says CPU physics overhead can drop by 50% or more across a wide range of hardware.
- Improved how changes in fuel mass affect vehicle center of gravity.
- Tire preparation is now performed every time the car is reset during lone qualifying sessions on road courses rather than only when the car first enters the world.
Race Control
Pending a successful test in Week 13’s iTested series, multiclass starts with per-class pace cars will roll out to select official series, beginning with the iRacing IMSA Series.
Support is planned to expand later to additional official series, Hosted iRacing and AI Racing.

Road Course Start Zone Procedure
When Start Zones are selected for an active session, participants will be shown the pace speed throughout the rolling grid pre-race pace lap.
The pace value is displayed in grey so drivers know the exact speed of the pace car. Cars should be formed into an orderly grid and maintain pace speed as they approach pit entry.
After the pace car enters pit lane, the pace speed changes from grey to yellow. Once yellow, Race Control pace-speed enforcement is active.
Any attempt to jump the start by accelerating early will receive a jumped-start penalty. All rows must maintain pace speed until Barney, Legendary Flagman, drops the green flag.
- The message for failing to meet driver change requirements has been updated.
- Fixed an issue where cars with higher car numbers could be delayed when entering Qualifying.
Pit Stops
A variety of pit-stop procedures have been updated to more accurately represent the number of available wheel guns, tire change times and jacking procedures. Individual vehicle and class notes provide additional details.
Graphics
- Smoke-like effects have been converted to the PopcornFX particle system.
- This includes vehicle smoke, tire smoke, dust and water puffs.
- Rendering performance, visual density, brightness and interaction with light sources have been improved.
- Slightly increased dirt, dust, grime, smoke, rubber and other particulate build-up on racecar windshields.
- Rain particles now use updated raindrop shapes and sizes.
- Perceived raindrop velocity now changes based on camera distance.
- Distance fade now considers particle size, opacity, wind and wind gusts.
- Wind speed and direction sampling for visible particles has been improved.
- A new rain mist effect has been added.
- Shaders and color variations for visiting race weekend vehicles have been updated.
- The IMSA font used on cars has been updated.
- Fixed tire marks from other cars appearing in Lone Qualifying sessions.
- Fixed some trackside objects appearing excessively bright at night.
Virtual Reality
- VR screen width and screen depth options can now be adjusted in real time.
- Changes no longer require a Simulator restart.
User Interface
Minimal UI Mode
- The existing Toggle UI Visibility control has been renamed Cycle UI Visibility Mode.
- It cycles between Normal, Minimal and completely Hidden modes.
- Minimal mode displays only pinned and required widgets.
- If no widgets are pinned, Minimal mode is skipped.
- A new Toggle Minimal Drive UI keybind has been added to the Drive Screen.
- Widgets can be pinned through Edit Layout mode using Alt+K.
Reference Car UI
A new Reference Car UI element has been added.
In Time Trial, Time Attack and Test Drive sessions, drivers can enable a floating 2D billboard above the target reference car. It displays live driver inputs including throttle and brake application to help users study driving technique.
Known issue: Reference Car UI currently does not appear for VR users. iRacing is investigating and plans to address it in a patch.
Car Damage Widget
A new Car Damage widget provides a graphical representation of the spotter damage report.
A wireframe model of the car changes color to provide an approximate indication of damage:
- Green: undamaged
- Yellow: minor damage
- Orange: moderate damage
- Red: critical damage
- Gray: part completely missing
- White: non-damageable component
The bottom of the widget displays wheel and suspension damage information. Icons can also indicate engine damage, high temperatures and fluid leaks.

Pit Summary Widget
The new Pit Summary widget consolidates almost all information required during a pit stop.
It can display:

- Time spent in the pits
- Applicable penalties
Drivers can also manipulate controls directly within the widget to plan and execute pit stops.
F9 Quick Access
The F9 Black Box has been redesigned as a Quick Access menu containing multiple smaller areas with rapidly adjustable values.
- Navigation uses the normal up and down controls.
- Using increment or toggle on a top-level item opens its submenu.
- Increment and decrement controls adjust values while focused on a submenu item.
Multiclass UI
- Added a Class column to Session Results.
- Fixed Session Results class filtering when not sorted by car number.
- Session Driver Focus Panel now shows Class Position / Number of Positions in Class.
- Lap Timing Blackbox now shows Class Position.
- Standings Blackbox can now filter between classes and defaults to the player’s class.
Fuel Calculator Widget
- Algorithms have been tuned using data collected during the previous season.
- The widget now works for non-driver teammates.
- Laps Left now matches the Black Box UI.
- Race length calculations now use the shorter of time-based and lap-based lengths.
- Pit-window calculations have been stabilized.
- Timed-race data generation issues have been fixed.
- Logic has been improved to provide more stable pit-window estimates.
- Pre- and post-race segments are no longer incorrectly counted in certain cases.
- Fixed malformed Fueled to End graphics.
Track Map Widget
- Joker and Start paths for Rallycross tracks have been added.
- Larger widget sizes are now supported.
- Fixed lap up/down indicators disappearing as soon as the first driver completed an event.
- The lapped-car outline now appears earlier to help identify cars approaching under blue flags.
16-Class UI Support
UI support has been added for up to 16 car classes.
A color and shape is available for every class, with support included in Session Results, Relative and Standings Black Boxes, and the Track Map.
UTF8 Support
UTF8 character support has been fully enabled for file names and paths.
Users should now be able to use international characters in Windows usernames, Simulator installation paths and user-generated filenames including camera files, replays and setups.
Additional UI Changes
- Added Reference Car Offset and Opacity options.
- Controls Input Widget now provides immediate visual feedback when shifting gears, even before a gear change is accepted.
- Upshifts show temporary yellow bars above the current gear.
- Downshifts show bars below the current gear.
- This display can be toggled in the widget editor.
- HUD Profile picker height is now limited to prevent it extending off-screen.
- VR Screen Width and Screen Distance options can now be changed without restarting the Simulator.
- Removed the quotation mark character from the tire information Black Box.
- Changed OMI to IMO for right-front/rear tires in the F5 tire information box.
- Session Screen Results and Standings are now class aware.
- Garage text alignment has been improved.
- Fixed clipping with long checkbox labels.
- Fixed inability to delete a personal setup named baseline.sto.
- Fixed Laps To Go not updating on the Session Screen.
- Fixed some Rookie iRatings incorrectly being visible.

- 360 Hz support has been added to Conspit wheels.
Spotter / Crew Chief
- Fixed the spotter reporting nearby cars located in other run groups.

- All English-language spotter packs now begin with “English-”.
- A new Chinese Mandarin Spotter Pack using a female voice has been added.

Gen 4 Grand National – New Car
The Gen 4 Grand National is now available as a new Asphalt Oval car.
The car represents the tier directly below the top stock-car category during the fourth-generation era between 1992 and 2006.
Although visually similar to its Cup Series counterpart, the Grand National used a shorter 105-inch wheelbase, a 9:1 compression ratio and smaller 390 CFM carburetors.
The 358-cubic-inch V8 produces approximately 600-650 horsepower. The car is lighter and slightly less powerful than the corresponding Cup machine, placing greater emphasis on momentum preservation and smooth inputs.

FULLY UPDATED TRACK!
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course has been rebuilt from the ground up using brand-new laser scan data and iRacing’s latest artwork techniques.
Constructed near Mansfield, Ohio in 1962, Mid-Ohio originally featured a 2.4-mile, 15-turn layout combining fast, medium and slow corners, a long straight and substantial elevation changes.
Jim Trueman modernized the venue after acquiring it in 1982, including modifications that bypassed the Keyhole chicane and created an optional 2.25-mile, 13-turn circuit.
The venue also includes a Short Course and a mini-oval utilizing the Keyhole area.
For 2026, iRacing has rescanned and rebuilt Mid-Ohio from the ground up.
