The sim racing game RENNSPORT has announced a third vehicle for the upcoming downloadable content pack. According to the clues so far, it could be the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo.
The DLC is titled “Kings of the Ring” and will include the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The Grand Prix circuit and the 24-hour circuit were released previously.
In an atmospheric teaser, the silhouette of an LMP-style vehicle can be seen. Previous teasers for new vehicles each ended with the headlights being switched on. Unlike the racing version of the 919, however, the Evo variant had no front lighting.
After Porsche withdrew from the FIA World Endurance Championship, the vehicle was used to set outright lap records. It initially succeeded at Spa-Francorchamps, although that time has since been beaten. In June 2018, the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo also completed a lap of the Nordschleife in a time of 5:19.55 minutes.
Timo Bernhard completed this lap, which remains the outright lap record to this day.
All three vehicles and the track for the pack should now be confirmed. The release is scheduled to take place before the end of September. The KTM X-Bow GT2 and the BMW M1 Procar will join the Porsche. Improvements to the overall game quality are also expected.
The “Kings of the Ring” DLC will be available separately. Owners of the Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, will receive the content at no additional cost.
