- NASCAR 26 will officially launch on September 18.
- The Gold Edition will be released on September 15.
- Planned features include AI retirements, a changing track surface, and redesigned track limits on road courses.
It was already known that NASCAR 26 would launch in September 2026 with Kyle Larson on the cover; the specific release date, September 18, 2026, has now been confirmed.
A Gold Edition, the exact contents of which will be announced at a later date, will provide access three days early (Early Access) starting September 15. The higher price planned for it has also yet to be announced.
In a recently released developer diary video featuring Kevin Bobbitt, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at iRacing, Senior Producer Matt Lewis, and Creative Director Mike DeVault, further impressions of the new venue Naval Base Coronado were presented. It will be integrated into the official NASCAR game for the current season.
In addition, a new system for developing the race track was presented and explained using still images. It is designed to create different racing lines on the track over the course of a race weekend.
Other confirmed features include the ability for AI-controlled opponents to retire from races (DNF), as well as the implementation of the new 2026 Chase format at the end of the season—or, depending on your perspective, its reintroduction—with ten rounds. This format will also be available as a separate game mode.
According to Matt Lewis, the penalty systems on the challenging track from the previous year's game have been “relaxed.”
The contents of the Gold Edition will be announced on July 29, 2026, together with new gameplay footage and more information about the pre-order options. Burnouts to celebrate race victories and cross-platform multiplayer for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S have already been confirmed.
