Playground Games has confirmed that the expansion will be released simultaneously for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. This date coincides with the game's delayed launch on Sony's platform.
The first expansion will include a new location, additional vehicles, and “exciting new gameplay elements.” However, no further details have been announced so far.
The expansion is included at no additional cost in the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, and Expansion Bundle. Alternatively, it can be purchased separately on its release date.
Traditionally, two paid expansions are released after the launch of a Forza Horizon title. This will also be the case for the latest installment in the series. However, a release date for the second expansion for Forza Horizon 6 has not yet been announced.
The first expansion for Forza Horizon 5 was based on the “Hot Wheels” brand and offered a new map with elevated stunt tracks, as well as ten additional vehicles. It was released in July 2022, also eight months after the base game.
Eight months later, in March 2023, the “Rally Adventure” expansion was released. If Forza Horizon 6 follows a comparable release schedule, the second expansion could arrive around June 2027.
The expansion's release date was announced alongside confirmation that the PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 6 has been delayed to January 26, 2027. It was originally scheduled to be released this year. Premium Edition pre-order customers will receive up to five days of early access.
