- PMR’s Japanese GT500 pack was released today.
- It includes GT500 cars from 2002 to 2004 and 2021 to 2024, as well as a new race track.
- The DLC is available for €9.99.
The Project Motor Racing team aims to improve the perception of its game, and content centered around Super GT seems like a promising start in this regard.
All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship 2002–2004
The “Japanese GT500 Pack” is now available and includes nine vehicles from the pinnacle of Japanese sports car racing. The DLC covers two distinct eras, with the first spanning the years 2002 to 2004, when the championship was still known as the “All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship.”
The GT500 A80 Toyota Supras, R33 Nissan Skylines, and NA2 Honda NSXs are considered the heyday of Japanese motorsport, when the vehicles were still relatively accessible to the general public and appeared like high-performance versions of their road-going counterparts.
PMR’s new DLC naturally includes all three of these renowned models, along with the 2004 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33).
Super GT 2021–2024
For the 2021–2024 GT500 racing seasons, PMR has included two models each from Honda (NA3 NSX, Civic) and Nissan (R35 GT-R, RZ34 Z), as well as the Toyota GR Supra. The Supra, Civic, and Z were used through 2025, before Honda introduced its new Prelude in 2026.
Regardless, PMR is the only modern simulation racing series to feature the latest vehicles from the Super GT championship, making this inclusion a significant achievement for developer Straight4 Studios.
Modern GT500 cars are known for their impressive, aerodynamically optimized speed as well as their exciting driving dynamics. Expectations are high that these characteristics can have a positive impact on PMR, despite the disappointing experience with the game’s recent 2.0 update.
Takimiya Circuit
The “Japanese GT500 Pack” also includes a new race track: Takimiya Circuit. It is essentially a version of Japan’s Okayama International Circuit (formerly known as TI Circuit Aida), continuing PMR’s trend of integrating unlicensed recreations of famous race tracks.
