- Third spring and brake duct adjustments unlocked in the new PMR update
- Slipstream effect adjusted in version 2.0.0.6
- “GT Icons” DLC releasing on June 23
A new update has been released for Project Motor Racing, reworking the slipstream effect and preparing the title for the launch of the new DLC tomorrow.
The “GT Icons” pack expands the title developed by Straight Studios with nine historic vehicles focused on the 1960s and 1970s. In addition, a new race track is being added: “Rocky Knoll Raceway,” which apparently represents an unlicensed interpretation of Road America.
For many, however, the key point is likely that renowned sim-racing physics expert Aristotelis Vasilakos is overseeing the handling of the new vehicles. This fuels hope that PMR’s development process, which has so far been marked by various difficulties, will now be placed on a more stable footing.
The GT icons include Jim Hall’s innovative Chaparral 2F, the Lola T70 Mk 3 and the Shelby Daytona Coupé, as well as the obligatory Porsche – in this case, a 911 Carrera RSR 3.0.
Contents of the “Project Motor Racing GT Icons” DLC

The central feature of the current update is a rework of the slipstream effect. According to Straight4, this is intended to “provide more consistent drafting behaviour and improved balance, resulting in better overtaking opportunities and more exciting duels right up to the photo finish.”
In addition, a third spring adjustment has been introduced for high-downforce vehicles, such as LMDh cars, to provide additional options for optimising driving stability. Brake duct adjustment is now also possible, although for now exclusively on LMDh cars.
Several smaller optimisations have also been made, including “alpha-specific settings” for the game’s VR mode, which is still in development.
