“Choosing the optimal timing for the release is a central aspect,” Motorsport Games explained regarding the Le Mans Ultimate versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Another financial year has come to an end for Motorsport Games, and those responsible for rFactor 2 and Le Mans Ultimate were able to present positive results. From a financial perspective, an update was published on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions of the successful PC racing simulation Le Mans Ultimate.
The release was originally scheduled for “late 2026/early 2027.” Development is being carried out in collaboration between development team Studio 397, publisher Motorsport Games, and an unnamed external porting agency. “The console version is fully on schedule for early to mid-2027,” said Stephen Hood, CEO of Motorsport Games.
“The key thing I want to emphasize at this point is that we are facing fewer technical challenges in the current phase, as we have already been active in this field for quite some time. It is more a matter of determining the right time for the release.
“When is the best time for the release? Should we tie it to a major motorsport event? How are competing titles positioning themselves?”
The Nasdaq-listed company reported revenue of 3.8 million US dollars for the fourth quarter of 2025, representing an increase of 95 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year. For fiscal year 2025, an increase of 30 percent to 11.3 million US dollars was recorded.
In addition, the company recently secured a 3 million US dollar line of credit from Citibank, which according to Hood serves to “ensure that we can realize our multiplatform plans for Le Mans Ultimate without jeopardizing our development plans for a new game title.”
Peter Hansen-Chambers, the former co-CEO and CFO of game developer Hutch, is now working as an advisor to the company. The console versions are seen as an opportunity to further build on the company’s recent success.
“We continue to make progress in bringing Le Mans Ultimate to PlayStation and Xbox consoles,” Hood continued.
“Our external development partners are working closely with our internal teams to finalize the first console versions while also optimizing the underlying game engine for our existing and highly engaged PC players.
“Consoles represent a significant expansion of the addressable market for Le Mans Ultimate, and we are taking a careful, quality-focused approach to realizing this opportunity.
“I believe this will have a considerable impact, and I say that because I have been active in this industry for a long time, have worked on numerous console products, and the addressable market is enormous.
“There is genuinely a real shortage of high-quality racing simulations on consoles, which has been a traditional problem for many years.”
