The RENNSPORT racing simulation for PC and console will release its first paid DLC in the near future, focusing on historic vehicles and beginning with the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1.
The inclusion of this vehicle was confirmed last year, and several renderings were presented. Now, the latest still images show the car both in-game and on the racetrack, specifically at Road Atlanta.
The 1998 specification was the third and final version of the German marque's GT1 program. During this season's FIA GT Championship, Mercedes-Benz won every single race, resulting in a humiliating defeat for Porsche.
Nevertheless, most people do not remember these circumstances. Instead, what remains in the memory is that this vehicle won the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year, driven by Laurent Aïello, Allan McNish and Stéphane Ortelli.
The 991 GT1 will be complemented in the “Endurance Classics Part 1” DLC package by the Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans), the aforementioned Mercedes-Benz CLK LM and the Group C Porsche 956. However, the latter two vehicles and the racetrack have not yet been presented.
The DLC was originally scheduled to release at the end of 2025, but was postponed so that the development team could focus on fixing existing issues. The new release window is now set for “early March”, together with the free Hyundai Vision 74, two alternative track layouts and a street circuit in Kuala Lumpur.
The price and final release date are currently still unknown. However, buyers of the Deluxe Edition will receive this DLC package for free.
