Ahead of the upcoming update and the first release of downloadable content (DLC) for RENNSPORT, the Peugeot 9X8 Hybrid was announced for the sim racing game.
The cross-platform racing game, which is available for PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S and was released in Early Access for PC in November of last year, received criticism due to its lackluster single-player mode, various shortcomings, and a limited selection of cars and tracks.
Several bug-fixing patches were released over the course of 2025, but there have been no major updates so far this year.
However, this could change in "early March," when the Hyundai Vision 74 and the Kuala Lumpur Street Circuit are introduced as part of a free update. Information about quality-of-life changes is not yet available.
It has not yet been confirmed when and whether the Peugeot 9X8 will appear in RENNSPORT, or whether it will be available for free or as DLC. It would not be surprising if its introduction took place at the same time as the upcoming updates.
The first DLC package is titled "Endurance Classics Part 1" and will include the "24h Le Mans de la Sarthe" circuit alongside the Porsche 911 GT1, the Mercedes-Benz CLK LM, and the Group C Porsche 956.
The 9X8, which is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, will be presented in a later specification in which the original "wingless" design is no longer used.
The vehicle is equipped with a mid-mounted 2.6-liter V6 twin-turbo engine that drives the rear wheels via a sequential seven-speed transmission. In addition, it features a 270-hp electric motor that drives the front wheels.
