After RENNSPORT emerged from Early Access for PC last year, it was released by its owners and developers, Competition Company. However, an agreement was reached for Nacon to distribute the versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
It has now become known that, according to information from the RENNSPORT team, the agreement between the two parties was “terminated by mutual consent” on February 20, 2026.
“We would like to sincerely thank the Nacon team for the work they have done and for their collaboration over the past year,” a spokesperson explained in a brief statement.
It can be assumed that the RENNSPORT team has already made considerable efforts and will continue to invest in maintaining sales of the game during the transition to a new publisher. As stated by the team itself, it will take full control over the fate of the game starting in “late March.”
“We will continue to evaluate our schedule to ensure a smooth transition. We will communicate all news as promptly as possible.”
This financial situation results from the parent company Bigben Interactive failing to repay part of its €43 million debt on February 17, as well as the lending banks’ refusal to provide the necessary funds. Trading on the Paris Stock Exchange was also “temporarily suspended.”
The company announced today that its “available assets do not enable it to meet its due liabilities,” and that it is examining all possible solutions to ensure the sustainability of Nacon’s business operations under the best possible conditions, protect its employees, and preserve jobs, while renegotiating with its creditors in a calm and constructive framework.
