Two weeks ago, the sim racing game RENNSPORT released a cross-platform update, another downloadable content pack, and a survey for the community.
After evaluating the feedback received, the development team has now presented its plans for the next update and the measures planned beyond it. The update is expected to be released before the end of October.
The published community report contains information on the improvements due in the immediate future, as well as an outlook on longer-term developments.
Changes in the next update
RENNSPORT points out that there is still room for improvement, particularly in the area of graphics. This primarily affects the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. The team assures players that the next update will help resolve “pixelated safety fences, flickering edges, and blurry brake boards.”
“These improvements to visual clarity and fixes to console upscaling are already firmly planned and will be included in our next update, which is scheduled for the end of this month,” the statement reads.
The reworking of the night lighting was also discussed. In particular, the use of vehicle headlights to improve orientation is to be taken into account.
A fix for game crashes when watching replays is also planned. The previously announced larger grids for private lobbies are likewise set to be implemented.
At present, this game mode is limited to twelve vehicles and a race duration of 30 minutes. A recently published update had initially stated that no changes were planned in this regard.
However, based on feedback from the player community, cross-platform test races with 24 participants and a duration of 60 minutes were recently held.
“The results of these sessions were overwhelmingly positive,” the team explained. It has therefore confirmed that this expanded format will be included in the next update.
New expansion at SimRacing Expo
The “Kings of the Ring” DLC, which includes three vehicles and an additional layout of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, was only released recently. Nevertheless, RENNSPORT is expected to soon provide the first hints about upcoming vehicles or confirm corresponding content.
At SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt, taking place from October 16 to 18, 2026, the company will “present the complete class lineup.” The goal is to supplement existing vehicle types or classes with additional models.
Until further details are announced, it should be noted that RENNSPORT currently has, for example, only one GT2 vehicle, one Group C race car, three LMDh or LMH models, and two TCR vehicles. Additional models would be conceivable in these categories.
RENNSPORT also announces that “another major new feature will be presented at the expo, addressing key requests from the community.” The final of the 2026 RENNSPORT R1 competition will also take place live as part of the event.
Further work
At the same time, the team is working on further improvements. These include the continuous expansion of steering wheel support, as well as adjustments to force feedback and base setups.
“We are aware that our out-of-the-box experience needs to be significantly better,” the statement reads. The team names the Logitech RS50, the Thrustmaster T598, and the T300 as devices whose support is to be specifically improved. Missing button mappings for Xbox users with Fanatec devices are also to be added.
“We are also working directly with hardware manufacturers to gain deeper technical insights and ensure reliable support for a broad range of steering wheels and accessories,” the team continued.
The changes to the sky introduced in the previous update are being temporarily rolled back. This follows reports from some players of blue and pink hues appearing on the track surface.
“We own this mistake and have reverted these changes while we reassess our approach for the future.”
Work will also continue on the performance of the single-player AI, delays at race starts, and loading times. The XP system is likewise to be adjusted through a flatter progression curve. The goal is to make reaching level 80 less tedious.
