After a difficult launch last year, RENNSPORT has outlined its strategies for improvement in a roadmap for 2026. Over the course of the year, monthly updates will provide a variety of new cars, tracks, and features both for free and in the form of premium DLCs.
Particularly noteworthy is that next month’s free update will include the Hyundai N Vision 74 as well as the Kuala Lumpur Street Circuit and additional layouts for Road Atlanta and Fuji. The April update will expand the track selection with two real-world race tracks: Laguna Seca and Sebring.
In addition to the free update, RENNSPORT’s first premium car and track pack will also be released next month. The DLC, titled “Endurance Classics,” includes the Porsche 911 GT1, the Mercedes-Benz CLK LM, the Porsche 956, the Peugeot 9X9 EVO, and the Le Mans circuit.
In May, the “Touring Classics Part 1” DLC will be made available, featuring the Alfa Romeo 155 V8 TI, the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 EVO II, the BMW M3 E30, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class V8, as well as the Hockenheimring Classic circuit.
Alongside the new cars and tracks, a concept of “updated championships” with asynchronous leaderboards will also be introduced in March. This is an additional points system based on various factors such as speed, position, and precision. Your score will contribute to an asynchronous online leaderboard for each season in the game. Further “new championships” will be offered in paid DLC packs.
As part of these championships, RENNSPORT’s AI, which is considered one of the most significant problems in the racing simulation, will be overhauled in a free update in May. According to the developers, the new AI will feature “more intelligent situation awareness,” enabling opponents to “defend strategically and perform overtaking maneuvers more realistically.” New difficulty options for the AI will also be implemented.
In addition, the Deluxe Edition, which includes all paid DLCs available through September, will be permanently reduced by 45% in March, bringing the price down to €38.49, while the price of the Standard Edition will remain unchanged.
It remains to be seen whether these updates can win back existing players or attract new ones. Nevertheless, the wealth of planned free content combined with the price reduction represents a promising step in the right direction.
