- The LMU hotfix is intended to fix existing netcode issues.
- To verify the changes, stress tests in the form of several events are planned.
A new hotfix is now available for Le Mans Ultimate.
Since the release of game version v1.4, which introduced the first part of the US Track Pass, including Laguna Seca and Daytona International Speedway, the multiplayer mode has been affected by various issues.
These issues primarily affect the handling of collisions, which are commonly referred to as “netcode” in online gaming. For many players, the errors significantly impaired the gaming experience. The previous switch from Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to the reliable User Datagram Protocol (RUDP) was partially reversed. However, as this was unable to resolve all the issues, the patch released now is necessary.
The operator of Le Mans Ultimate, Motorsport Games, has already conducted public tests to verify the game's stability with regard to the following events:
- Week beginning September 14: Weekly single-driver race (Tuesdays and Thursdays), 90 minutes of Le Mans, Hypercar, WEC LMP2 and LMGT3
- September 18, exclusively at 08:00 UTC: Team race, six hours of Silverstone, ELMS LMP2, LMP3 and LMGT3
- September 25, exclusively at 08:00 UTC: Team race, twelve hours of Le Mans, 62 cars, Hypercar, WEC LMP2 and LMGT3
The netcode issues were so severe that LFM's Simverse Pro Series, considered one of the most prestigious current e-sports competitions for Le Mans Ultimate, had to be postponed. The series resumed on September 10.
