Update v0.9 for Assetto Corsa EVO is increasingly taking shape. The Audi R8 LMS GT2, Audi R8 V10 Performance quattro, and Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R (Type A) are three new cars that are nearing release.
  • The Audi R8 LMS GT2, Audi R8 V10 Performance quattro, and Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R (Type A) will be included in update v0.9 for Assetto Corsa EVO.
  • Further information about version 0.9 and an expected release date have not yet been announced.

Three new cars have thus been revealed for the upcoming update v0.9. Beyond that, no further details about the content of the version are currently available. Fans are therefore eagerly awaiting additional information about the game's announced free-roam mode, especially after Assetto Corsa EVO's originally economy-based career system was abruptly scrapped.

Instead, developer Kunos Simulazioni made modding tools available at an early stage and opened the game servers, allowing players to host their own online races. Further improvements are also expected in the areas of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and overall game stability.

Audi R8 LMS GT2

The Audi R8 LMS GT2 was developed specifically for amateur and gentleman drivers in SRO's GT2 European Series.

Like the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo, KTM X-Bow GT2, Mercedes-AMG GT2, and Porsche 935, which are already represented in Assetto Corsa EVO, the Audi produces between 600 and 700 bhp. At the same time, it offers less aerodynamic downforce than the GT3 cars, which are more focused on professional motorsport.

Introduced in 2020, the Audi stands out with the distinctive sound of its 5.2-liter V10 engine and its characteristically muscular body design.

Audi R8 V10 Performance quattro

The Audi R8 V10 Performance quattro is considerably less dedicated to track use than the LMS GT2. However, it features the same powerful 5.2-liter V10 engine, which is paired with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission.

The quattro all-wheel-drive system helps transfer more than 600 bhp to the road in a controlled manner. Following the discontinuation of the model line in 2024, this model will be the final production version of the Audi R8.

Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R (Type A)

The Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R (Type A) may be the most eagerly anticipated car in update v0.9. The model embodies the Japanese tradition of high-performance rotary-powered road cars to a particularly strong degree.

Introduced in 2002, the FD Spirit R produces around 290 bhp with its high-revving rotary engine, which has a redline of 8,000 rpm. Its handling also lives up to the vehicle's dynamic character.

The Mazda owes its legendary status, among other things, to its appearance in the Gran Turismo series. As a result, many players are likely to be especially excited about the return of this popular virtual car.

Roughly two months after update v0.8, Kunos Simulazioni is expected to unveil update v0.9 for Assetto Corsa EVO shortly. However, a specific release date has not yet been announced.
