MXGP 26, developed by Artefacts Studio, launches on October 1, 2026. This is revealed by newly released gameplay footage.
The title is the second official game based on the FIM Motocross World Championship to be published by Nacon.
Following the disappointing predecessor released in 2024, the French development team took a one-year break to switch to Unreal Engine 5 and optimize the physics systems.
A rider customization system had already been announced. It allows players to acquire and customize officially licensed helmets, boots, pants, jerseys, gloves, and goggles. This system was briefly shown in action for the first time in a recently released gameplay video.
During our most recent hands-on preview at the racetrack, we were able to establish the following in particular:
“The upcoming game currently still lacks the necessary smoothness when cornering. At times, the motorcycle tends to push forward more than expected. In addition, the extra rider movement mid-corner known from Supercross 25 is missing, for example.”
According to the development team, work has continued since these tests, however. With the release of the final version in October, the placeholders previously used for engine sounds are to be removed, the physics on sandy surfaces optimized, and additional options for the field of view and camera perspectives integrated. Scenes in the paddock are also expected to be included.
“We can still refine some elements of the physics further,” producer Romain Paolillo explained. In particular, he was referring to the traction control system and the ruts.
It had already been confirmed that the game would be released in October. The final release date has now been set for October 1, 2026. The pre-order bonuses include liveries from Scrubdesignz.
Buyers of the Fox Holeshot Edition will also receive a corresponding cosmetic pack, as well as early access to the game starting September 28, 2026.
