MXGP 26 will be released in October 2026. On the occasion of the relaunch of the official FIM Motocross World Championship, for which a release month has now been confirmed, a new gameplay trailer was also unveiled.
The game recreates the current 2026 season and includes the riders, motorcycles, and tracks from both the premier MXGP class and the MX2 junior class.
Publisher Nacon and developer Artefacts Studio have abandoned the previously used KT Engine technology, which was used, among other things, for the rather poorly received “MXGP 24” (the latest title in the series to date), in favor of Unreal Engine 5.
Judging by the trailer, this change appears to pay off particularly in terms of the track environments and the condition of the terrain. This is impressively illustrated by individual scenes featuring mud-covered surroundings and riders. In addition, new rider animations have been announced that are expected to improve the handling and movement sequences in the air.
Dynamic terrain conditions, a completely new helmet camera perspective, and revised motorcycle physics are also among the announced new features.
The game modes listed are “Grand Prix” (single races), “Championship,” “Time Trial,” and a freely explorable area called “The Compound.” A dedicated career mode, on the other hand, does not appear to be planned. The online multiplayer mode is expected to support up to ten participants. In addition, licensed motorcycle and apparel items will be offered, which apparently can be customized individually.
A specific release date has yet to be announced. So far, it is only known that the game will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
