When iRacing secured the rights to develop official NASCAR video games for PC and console in 2023, it seemed likely that a new title would be released every year in the future.
This was in line with the original concept of the former licensees, and the inclusion of the year in the title of the first release, NASCAR 25, already clearly pointed in that direction.
However, until today, June 8, 2026, it was not specifically known that NASCAR 26 was in development.
“The next version of NASCAR 25, which, as you can imagine, will be called NASCAR 26, is already in development, and I expect you will hear news about it in the near future,” explained Kevin Bobbitt, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at iRacing, in the latest episode of the iRacing Downshift podcast.
“We say ‘hashtag soon’ about some announcements that are still to come, but I can’t say anything more about that at the moment. I’m really looking forward to it; we’re working on some exciting content.”
These statements follow a social media post by Dale Earnhardt Jr., a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Executive Director of iRacing, which was published in April. It says:
“The soundtrack for the next NASCAR console game is taking shape. We still need to secure the rights to 19 songs. I get the impression that we learned a great deal from last year to further improve this selection. In addition, we’re working on options that will allow players to decide for themselves what they want to hear and what they don’t.”
iRacing has launched the iRacing Studios umbrella brand, under which all spin-off titles are grouped together. These include the upcoming IndyCar game, ExoCross, World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing, and the standalone NASCAR titles.
