- Motorsport Games repurchases 904,395 shares from parent company Driven Lifestyle Group LLC
- The success of MSG's “Le Mans Ultimate” creates optimistic future prospects for the company
The turnaround at Motorsport Games has become clearly evident in recent months. Following a series of layoffs, difficult licensing situations, and falling share prices, MSG's future was hanging in the balance at the end of 2024.
Investments from Chinese VR headset specialist Pimax helped cushion short-term losses in 2025, while the success of the simulation game Le Mans Ultimate – the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship – has improved the company's future prospects.
Planned console versions and a series of DLC packs have boosted MSG's coffers, with the latest annual report showing a 30% increase in revenue to $11.3 million for fiscal year 2025.
Share Repurchase Agreement
Against this backdrop, the company announced today that it had repurchased 904,395 Class A shares from its parent company, Driven Lifestyle Group LLC. At a price of $4.11 per share, this represents a total value of just over $3.7 million.
As a result of the transaction, all of the company's Class B shares, which carried ten times the voting rights of Class A shares, were “retired.” This means that each MSG share now carries the same voting rights.
Following this, shareholders approved a proposal allowing the company to reward employees with more extensive stock-based compensation packages – a move that, according to the company, is intended to “motivate and retain the employees who drive growth.”
“This share repurchase directly reflects how far Motorsport Games has come,” explained Stephen Hood, President and Chief Executive Officer of Motorsport Games.
“Our strengthened financial position has given us the ability to act, bringing more ownership stake and strategic influence back to the company, which ultimately benefits all shareholders.
“We are grateful to Driven Lifestyle for its support in founding the company. It is very encouraging that they have chosen to retain a minority stake in the company.
“We are shaping the future of Motorsport Games for the long term – not just for the next quarter, but for the next decade. We see this as another positive milestone in the history of our resurgent company,” he concluded.
