Assetto Corsa EVO intends to build on its recent successes: Following the release of an impressive trailer for the free-play mode, the next vehicle has now been confirmed. As part of an information series about Update 0.5, the Toyota Corolla AE86 was announced for the upcoming update with a series of images.
The small car from the 1980s was available in two body styles: hatchback and coupé, both equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-four engine and rear-wheel drive.
There were also two different front-end designs to choose from. The Corolla Levin models featured fixed headlights, while the sporty Sprinter Trueno was equipped with pop-up headlights.
In the EVO version, the coupé variant is currently shown in APEX trim. The white and black color options are also a tribute to Takumi Fujiwara’s Initial D tofu delivery car.
This generation of Japanese small cars is highly popular thanks to its agile handling and attractive value for money. AE86 models are particularly common in the drifting and tuning scene, which is why Assetto Corsa has confirmed that they will be “available in multiple versions.”
The Toyota Supra, which was added in December 2025 with Update 0.4, was presented, for example, in a heavily modified drift version.
The remaining vehicle lineup and the release date for the upcoming update are not yet known. However, we will inform you immediately as soon as the release date draws closer.
