- A new Fanatec steering wheel being developed in cooperation with Nissan is currently in development.
- A licensing agreement has been announced, with detailed product information expected to follow in 2026.
The Nissan-designed sim racing steering wheel is intended to place particular emphasis on craftsmanship, ergonomic precision, and visual authenticity.
Although specific details about the product specifications remain limited so far, both companies have set themselves the goal of developing a product inspired by the brand's tradition of performance vehicles.
“The focus in developing the steering wheel is on craftsmanship, ergonomic precision, and visual authenticity, ensuring that sim racers feel fully connected to the road and can become completely immersed in the experience,” explained the German gaming accessories manufacturer.
Fanatec, now part of the Corsair Group, has many years of experience in licensed sim racing products. These include, among others, a McLaren GT3 steering wheel, a BMW M4 GT3 steering wheel used both virtually and in real-world racing, as well as the recently unveiled Porsche Vision Gran Turismo model.
It is not yet known exactly what the new steering wheel will look like. Nissan's current model lineup includes a legendary range of Skyline GT-R and Z sports cars, whose latest top models are the R35 GT-R and the (RZ34) Z.
The Nissan Hyper Force concept was presented in 2023 and could offer a glimpse of future sports car models from the Japanese brand. It integrated elements designed by the “Gran Turismo” developers Polyphony Digital.
Nissan is currently involved in motorsport with official factory teams in Super GT and Formula E, as well as with a Z GT4 customer program.
