Back in February, RENNSPORT presented a comprehensive roadmap outlining planned DLCs, a permanent price adjustment, and AI improvements. The year's first update, originally scheduled for March, was postponed after the developer parted ways with console publisher Nacon.
In a community post, developer Competition Company reaffirmed that the next update is currently “planned,” although a specific release date has not yet been set.
As part of this update, the price of the RENNSPORT Deluxe Edition will be reduced. With a 45% discount, this edition will be reduced to €38.49. It includes all paid content packs through September, including “Endurance Classics Part 1” and “Touring Classics Part 1.”
Due to “strict waiting periods between price changes” in digital stores, the Standard Edition will initially remain available at its regular price during the Deluxe Edition's discount period. Shortly after the mandatory waiting period ends, however, it is supposed to be offered at a 50% discount for a period of 14 days.
“The store algorithms actively highlight discounted titles,” the developer explained. “We need to ensure that RENNSPORT remains visible everywhere, and this rotating structure makes it possible to continuously make the game accessible to new drivers.”
“Our goal is long-term stability and a growing community.”
In addition, the developer intends to implement the “first version” of RENNSPORT's overhauled AI with the upcoming update. At the time of its release last year, the unpredictable behavior of the AI opponents was one of the racing simulation's most noticeable problems.
In response, Competition Company says it has “gutted” the existing AI architecture and “rebuilt it from the ground up.”
Alongside the AI improvements, the developer is currently preparing the introduction of official mod support for RENNSPORT. Further information is to be announced at a later date.
“We are aware that the community is asking for this feature,” the developer explained. “However, implementing it requires a considerable investment of time and resources, and to ensure consistently safe functionality, the system must be developed to be technically flawless.”
The “Endurance Classics Part 1” DLC is also scheduled to arrive in May. It expands the game with the Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes-Benz CLK LM, Porsche 956, Peugeot 9X9 EVO, and Circuit de la Sarthe.
