- The Moza HMA150 motion platform was unveiled for the first time at GDC in San Francisco.
- It offers 150 mm of travel and simulates forces of up to 1 G.
- Racing Lab controls inputs from Moza products and physically teaches players how to drive fast.
MOZA has taken its first step into sim racing motion platform technology, unveiling the HMA150 Haptic Motion Actuator at the GDC Festival of Gaming Expo 2026 in San Francisco.
The HMA150 uses four actuators with three degrees of freedom (DOF) and simulates the forces generated during acceleration, braking, and cornering at up to 1 G. The actuators have 150 mm of travel and can move at speeds of up to 300 mm/s, powered by a 48 V low-voltage DC system. MOZA sees this as an advantage of the HMA150 over some competitors, as no large power supplies are required.
In addition, all control components are integrated into each actuator housing, giving the product an appealing and clean appearance. The entire system is controlled by a 600 MHz processor and offers vibration effects of up to 150 Hz, which is reportedly 50 Hz more than comparable systems.
MOZA Motion Manager
Also unveiled at GDC is the MOZA Motion Manager, an AI-powered motion feedback engine that provides motion effects even when the selected game does not output telemetry data.
In theory, this could also be significant for games outside the sim racing sector, such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2, as Motion Manager is capable of interpreting audio and visual signals. This could make riding a horse a particularly immersive experience.
AI Coach: Racing Lab
In a potentially controversial decision, MOZA has decided to continue its former collaboration with Track Titan in the field of AI driver coaching internally and founded “Racing Lab.”
This innovative application can control inputs from MOZA steering wheels and pedals to simulate lap times at an expert level (or even faster), offering a new, more physical way to learn advanced techniques.
Like other AI training tools, such as trophi.ai, Racing Lab will continue to provide driving tips and telemetry data to deliver advanced feedback.
Further information on pricing and release dates for MOZA’s latest innovations is not yet available. However, the HMA150 Haptic Motion Actuator can be tested at GDC from now until March 13 at booth 1055 in the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
