- Moza Racing will be the official sim-racing equipment partner of the Gran Turismo World Series.
- The company is only the third supplier of steering wheels and pedals in the history of the competition to become a partner during an ongoing season.
- For Moza, the partnership represents a significant step, as it marks the first time the company is developing PlayStation-compatible devices.
In an unexpected change during the ongoing season, Moza Racing was named the official steering wheel and pedal partner of the Gran Turismo World Series, the premier competition in Gran Turismo 7.
The partnership represents a major change for the series. It combines online and in-game qualifying rounds with four elaborately produced live events, where the world's best drivers compete against each other.
Moza is therefore only the third sim-racing hardware partner in the history of the Gran Turismo World Series. This is particularly noteworthy because the company has so far had no products compatible with PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 in its portfolio.
Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the Gran Turismo series, referred in this context to the development of a steering wheel ideally suited to GT7:
“Look forward to the new products that will be brought to market by Moza,” he said.
“My first experience with MOZA was with the company's camera-stabilizing gimbals.
Gimbals and controllers are based on similar technologies, as both require extremely precise control of electric motors. Therefore, I have been closely following MOZA's development expertise, technology and reliability for some time now.”
“The development of force-feedback steering wheels for consumers, which began with ‘Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec’, is being continuously advanced. Now that MOZA is joining as a partner, I look forward to the expanded opportunities to develop a steering wheel that is optimal from Gran Turismo's perspective.”
Moza confirmed that the official partnership will first become visible during the next round of the series. Due to the cancellation of the race in Abu Dhabi, the championship will return to a remotely recorded event in a rare occurrence. The broadcast is scheduled for August 15, 2026, following the recording at Polyphony Digital's headquarters in Tokyo.
“The partnership with the Gran Turismo World Series is a significant and exciting milestone for us,” said CY GUAN, CEO of Moza Racing.
“Gran Turismo has thrilled motorsport fans for generations. We are honored to contribute to a championship that represents the pinnacle of virtual motorsport.”
PS5-compatible MOZA devices in development
The partnership confirms the development of PS5-compatible devices from Moza, which have so far been absent from the company's product portfolio. However, it is not yet known which steering wheels and pedals the participants will use in the upcoming round. Traxion has requested further information on this.
“This partnership marks the beginning of a new chapter for Moza Racing, as the company works on launching its first officially licensed racing products for PlayStation,” the company said.
“Development is still underway. Moza Racing will publish further information in the coming months as the company expands its ecosystem and delivers new experiences to Gran Turismo players worldwide.
This is just the beginning – more significant announcements will follow.”
